Despite huge support for the campaign, for 10 months now the 2 million people on legacy benefits have been ignored by the Government. That’s why we need to continue to take every opportunity to raise the issue.

Take action

Please urge your MP to attend our Parliamentary event next week on Wednesday 17 February. The Government must stop discriminating against the 2.2 million people on legacy benefits by providing them with the £20 per week increase that those on Universal Credit have seen since the COVID-19 pandemic began

Our recent ‘Pandemic Poverty: Stark choices facing disabled people on legacy benefits’ report shows that disabled people on legacy benefits have had to go ten months without vital support and they continue to face immense hardship.

The Disability Benefits Consortium will be holding an online Parliamentary event next Wednesday 17 Februaryto share the results of this new damning reportthat reveals two thirds of people they surveyed have had to go without essentials like food, heating or medication as a result of increased costs since the pandemic started.

We need as many MPs as possible to attend and to join the call to #IncreaseLegacyBenefits. Your MP is much more likely to attend if they receive an invitation from one of their constituents. Please invite them now.

The deadline is tight, so please write to your MP today.
